Hi, I’m DaNa
I am a hatha, vinyasa, and KATONAH YOGA® teacher, among other things. I grew up dancing and have always LOVED moving - walking, running, anything to not sit still is my jam. That, combined with my appreciation and admiration for the similarities between art and science, led to my studying Electrical Engineering and Dance in college. In my last year at uni (as they say outside of the US) I created a device that converted kinetic energy into electrical energy so we could “power the world through dance” as they say (no one says that). After college/uni, I moved to New York City and needed a way to keep moving and grooving! Unfortunately, it’s very hard to dance full time and have a full time 9-5, so I had to find other ways to keep moving. I discovered Sky Ting Yoga in NYC and fell in love with the yoga theory, style, and community there.
That was fall 2017, so fast forward to now and I have completed my 200 hour teacher training at Sky Ting, 200 hour KATONAH YOGA® certification, and 100 hour mentorship with Kate Posch. My experience combined with my dance background allows me to create multi-faceted classes that allow you glean insights for how you truly feel and learn how you want to move to feel better.
I’ve participated in multiple trainings with teachers around the world who specialize in hatha, vinyasa, and KATONAH YOGA® at studios like The Looking Glass (Basel, CH), The Studio (NY, NY), Katonah Yoga Collective (Bedford Hills, NY), Original Feelings (Berlin, DE).
I lived in Berlin, Germany for four years and taught classes for WeWork, BECYCLE, Original Feelings, outdoor park classes and countless virtual classes on Zoom.
I am back living in NYC continuing to teach at Kala Yoga BK in Brooklyn. I also lead annual retreats where we get to hike, do yoga, and relax.
I hope to see you in class one day!
